The Reserved Bed Program supports hospital partners facing capacity constraints by helping place patients who are often declined by traditional skilled nursing centers due to financial, clinical, behavioral, or social complexity.

Through this program, we can handle challenging cases, including (but not limited to):

•  No active payer source
•  Insufficient payer coverage
•  High-cost medications
•  Complex wound care
•  Substance use or addiction-related needs

•  Ventilator care, where available by market
•  Guardianship issues
•  Houselessness
•  Hospice care needs
•  Chemotherapy and radiation

Improved Thruput:

The Reserved Bed Program allows the hospital to free up hospital beds and alleviate capacity constraints.

Decreased Costs:

The cost of a reserved bed is much lower than keeping those patients in the hospital.

Increased Revenue:

The Reserved Bed Program has enabled several participating hospitals to achieve a backfill ratio of 4:1 after the discharge of the patient into a Reserved Bed program.

Improved Metrics:

With the Reserved Bed Program, you will see a decrease in your length of stay, which will in turn increase your profitability.

Not only does PACS help alleviate capacity constraints at your hospital, but we manage the program on a day-to-day basis as well.

Our team uses a sophisticated business intelligence program to track patient progress and data, and provides you with important information, such as length of stay of patients on the Reserved Bed Program, discharge destination, return to the acute hospital percentage, etc.

We also handle all administrative aspects of patient care and remain in regular communication with your team regarding patient updates.

PACS has an experienced team in place running the Reserved Bed Program full-time, including a director of social services and post-acute care managers.

Our expertise has led to outstanding results year after year, with our partners consistently reporting improved patient outcomes, employee morale, and financial results.

Furthermore, the Reserved Bed Program has been vetted and approved by legal and compliance teams both within PACS and by outside entities.
