PACS Healthcare Elevated Video Transcript

If you step into a traditional nursing home, you’ll identify pretty quickly that it has not aged well. Facilities get worn down. They’re not staffed well enough. You won’t get adequate care. It’s like the Middle Ages, hardly any investment in technology. Oh my gosh. These are places where you’d never want to work at, you’d never want to be a patient at.

And if you’re a family member, you’d never want to place your loved one there. There’s a better way. There’s a better way to operate nursing homes. People want to send their loved ones to the place that has the best reputation.

Hey, what the heck is PACS?

PACS is doing healthcare in a new way.

I thought, “Oh God, this could be another hospital.” Much to my surprise, it was totally different.

We take these underperforming, mismanaged facilities and we breathe new life into them. PACS comes in and infuses new energy. New support systems, new technology to make the staffs and residents lives better. Physical, occupational speech therapy services, skilled nursing.

When I first got here, like anything new, I was scared, but the people here were my number one supporters.

Going through the halls, speaking to all the nurses, they know you by name.

What I love to do is engage with patients on a daily basis. How was your day? Are you getting your medications on time? How was the food?

There is no cookie cutter for healthcare. Every individual is unique. The biggest difference with PACS is that healthcare is local. We give the autonomy to the building, to the facility.

We care for a lot of patients that are coming from the hospital and then going home. That day that they discharge is really a celebration of all their hard work.

I know there are some long-term patients here. My goal is to get home, walk out of here, not be wheeled out of here.

When a resident leaves and they tell me they’re going to miss me, that means I did my job. Everything we do begins and ends with care. Care is our product.

Everyone knows their purpose. Everyone loves their job.

There’s lots of smiles and hugs around here. I love it. We’re changing people’s lives.

Because of this place, I’m thriving. I owe my life to this place.
